Research

Rensselaer has emerged with a national reputation as a leader in games and simulation both as a consequence of its new B.S. in Games and Simulation Arts and Sciences and its committed group of faculty researchers already conducting and publishing games research.

The primary focal point for faculty research is The Center for Game Research, with labs located in the Rensselaer Social and Behavioral Research Laboratory (SBRL).

The new center provides an umbrella organization that develops and coordinates research in games and simulation by multi-disciplinary teams from diverse backgrounds in arts, cognitive science, computer science, and human-computer interaction.

Many of the GSAS core faculty have initiated research and publication projects that formed the basis of their intellectual and pedagogic constributions to the formulation of the undergraduate degree program.
